Testimonials

  • We went to a beginners class with Alex and totally loved it! It was very relaxing and peaceful. It’s easy to see why Tai Chi can help you to relax as it’s a very gentle, calming sequence. Alex was a great teacher, very friendly and enthusiastic and encourages you to enjoy the full experience. We will definitely be back for more! (Don’t worry if you have no experience, Alex makes it very easy to follow and is a very good teacher)

  • I recently attended a combined Tai Chi and Qi Gong beginner class with Alex, and it was a great experience! Alex was welcoming, patient and encouraging, guiding us through the movements in a clear and understandable way, making the class accessible for everyone, regardless of experience level. I came away from the class feeling more relaxed and centred. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to explore these practices more, or looking for a holistic way to improve their wellbeing, both mind and body!

About

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi (also known as Taijiquan) is a Chinese martial art which focuses on cultivating inner strength and balance. Rooted in a deep philosophy, Tai Chi seeks to overcome opponents not through force or speed but with softness and yielding - the highest form of skill. My focus in these classes will be on health rather than martial application, aiming to improve your balance, coordination and awareness. By practicing Tai Chi, I have been able to relax my body, calm my mind and promote recovery and healing. This is the Tai Chi I hope to share with you.

What is Qi Gong?

Qi Gong (or simply qigong) is often described as a form of moving meditation. 'Qi' can be translated, amongst other things, as 'breath' or 'energy'. By linking slow gentle movements with the breath, I have found that this practice creates a deeper connection between my Mind and Body. It releases tension, cultivates vitality and improves holistic wellbeing. This is the Qi Gong I hope to share with you.
